In August 2026, Joanie DeKoker (BestBillsFan aka Mamma Blue) [Class of 2003] was honored by being inducted into the VERY FIRST class of the Pro Football Ultimate Fan Association LEGENDS. She was one of three members to receive this honor. Joanie is--and has been--a Legend in PFUFA for over 20 years.  

 

Joanie has served this organization in one form or another every year she has been active. Most notability, she served as PFUFA Treasurer for two different terms. Her first time in office was from 2005-2009 and the second was from 2010-2014.  

 

In 2005, Joanie became the first member of the Class of 2003 to be elected an Officer for PFUFA. It was during this first term as Treasurer that Joanie established the base framework of our organizational financial structure. Before her, the phrase “fast and loose” was an understatement as to the conditions of our books. She took all the disconnected and tangent pieces of information from those early days and placed them into a financial process that was dependable and reliable—and she was doing this “on paper!!” She also established the concept of financial reporting.

 

Also, during this first term as Treasurer, Joanie established and ran the official PFUFA Store. At that time, it was a mere shadow of what it was to become, but she started it. Most of the merchandise came directly from or through Joanie. Before her, the concept of a store was more like a yard sale. Her efforts directly lead to what is now our thriving merchandise store.

 

In 2006, Joanie was one of the four officers that created the PFUFA Draft. Immediately after the Annual Business Meeting, Joanie and the three other officers would change the direction and history of PFUFA forever. In the most historic and crucial moment in PFUFA History, the four officers sat in the lobby of the former hotel for hours to hammer out an outline of the PFUFA Draft. This event cannot be understated or overlooked. Without this action, PFUFA would not exist, and Joanie played a crucial role in the passage of the PFUFA Draft at the following reunion.

 

In 2008, Joanie was awarded the "4 Star True Blue Arrow Salute Award" Presidents Choice Award for her outstanding service as Treasurer. In 2009, she stepped down but continued to serve running the PFUFA Store and in many, many other capacities.

 

In 2010, Joanie was called upon again to serve in elected office. She gladly accepted the nomination and held the office of Treasurer from 2010-2014. This time, however, she did not have to work off paper.  Admittedly, Joanie could spell the word “computer” but did not like to use them, but she learned, and we are better off for her efforts.

Joanie is also the unofficial PFUFA Ambassador of the Super Bowl. She has attended nearly every game for the past 30 years and has helped to organize and gather our members at the events.

 

Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association has benefited greatly from Joanie membership, dedication, and distinguished excellence. She is admired by all, and Joanie DeKoker is a LEGEND.
